Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, opened on 9 March 1958, is the most important in Kenya and serves not only the capital but the entire country. It operates domestic and international flights to destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the United States.

Number of terminals - 2 - Terminal 1 (domestic and international flights) and Terminal 2 (low-cost flights). Open 24 hours a day. Terminal 1 is divided into several units (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E), connected to a central building via covered walkways and to Terminal 2 by free shuttle buses.
Annual passenger traffic: 6.9 million passengers went through in 2022.

The airport is located in the suburb of Embakasi, 18 km (11 miles) southeast of Nairobi's central business district.
