Houari Boumediene Airport, opened in 1924, is the most important in Algeria and serves the capital of the country, Algiers. It operates with domestic and international flights to several destinations in Africa, Europe, Canada, the Middle East and the Far East.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminal 1 (international flights), Terminal 2 (domestic flights) and Terminal 3 (charter flights). Open 24 hours a day. A free shuttle bus service connects the terminals every 10 minutes.

Algiers airport is located 17 km (9 miles) to the southeast of the city.
The airport has ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, post office, mobile phone services and pre-paid Wi-Fi access. Meeting and conference facilities at several nearby hotels, such as the Mercure Alger Aéroport. The Salon Premií¨re Classe is located between terminals 1 and 2, next to gate 21; it opens around the clock and provides snacks, TV, premium food, newspapers and magazines, Wi-Fi, drinks (accessed by paying at the door).
Food and Drinks- There are several restaurants, coffee shops, tea rooms and pastries inside the terminals.
Shopping- Duty-free shops in the Departures area of Terminal 1, in addition to stores selling tobacco, newspapers, handicrafts, souvenirs, accessories, toys, perfumes, electronics, books.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping and free trolleys available in the parking lots. Enquire with your airline in case your baggage is missing.
Other Services- Prayer room, pharmacies, medical clinic.
Bus - Line 39 from ETUSA (Tel +213 2165 5758) links the airport with Bab Ezzouar and Place Audin, in the city centre, between 6:15 am and 0:05 am, with a journey time of 20 minutes. Route 100 travels to Bab Ezzouar and Place des Martyrs, while bus 178 runs to Bab Ezzouar and Gare Routiére. Tickets can be acquired on board. More information
Taxi - Vehicles available outside the Arrivals area of terminals 1 and 2. The trip to the city takes around 25 minutes.
Car rental counters are found in the Arrivals area of Terminal 1. They operate from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Outside the terminals there are parking lots for short and long stays (P1 for Terminal 1, P2 near Terminal 2 and P3 next to Terminal 3). A free shuttle bus links the car parks with each other and the main buildings. The first 30 minutes of stay are free of charge. More information: Tel +213 2120 7085.
Passengers with reduced mobility should inform their airline about their needs at the time of their booking. Airport facilities include elevators, ramps, escalators, adapted toilets and reserved parking spaces close to the main entrances. Unaccompanied minors will be escorted by personnel from the corresponding airline.
