Possibility to spend the night at Amsterdam Schiphol airport (AMS), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.
Amsterdam Airport is one of the busiest airports on the European continent, as in addition to direct flights it serves as a connection for many routes to and from other continents. For this reason, many passengers have connecting or direct flights in the early hours of the morning. For reasons of convenience or even budget, it is essential for many passengers to remain within the facilities while waiting for their flights, and this is made possible by the terminal's 24-hour operation.
Like any busy airport, Amsterdam Airport remains brightly lit and noisy, so it is advisable to have earplugs, a face mask and a blanket or warm clothing on hand, as it tends to get chilly at night. Be aware that after midnight, security personnel usually check that passengers have a boarding pass.
Where to rest: In the boarding area, there are many seats without armrests. Near hall D, there is a forest-like green area with comfortable seats for resting. There is an internet kiosk with cushioned chairs and benches between halls E and F, as well as next to the lockers between halls B and C. As for the public area, comfortable seating is available in a cafeteria located on the left side of the terminal. There are also some VIP lounges within the terminal, although these are closed at night. There are also a number of hotels both inside the main building and in the surrounding area.
Baggage: There are 24-hour left-luggage and locker services, so you can forget about your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: Some fast food outlets, cafes and bars are open 24 hours a day.
Restrooms: Showers are available next to the first aid clinic, in the airport hotels and some VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: The service is free of charge in 4-hour sessions.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, spa, first aid clinic, pharmacy.
The Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal is located on the first floor of hall 3, while the YOTELAIR Amsterdam Schiphol Terminal is located in hall 2, near the boarding gates. The Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and CitizenM Schiphol Airport are connected to the terminal via covered walkways. See more
