Bus

Buses stop at terminals 2 and 4. You will find digital displays indicating which stop each bus uses both outside and inside the terminals. Tickets can be purchased from the information desk in Terminal 5, Arrivals Hall, and from the ticket machines in Terminal 4.

Flygbussarna (Tel +46 771 515 252) provides transport to central Stockholm every 15 minutes from 3:00 am to 10:00 pm, with intermediate stops at Jarva Krog, Frösunda, Haga Norra, Haga Södra, Norra Stationsgatan and Sankt Eriksplan. Travel time is 45 min. There are also services to Liljeholmen (50 min. trip) every 30 min. via Karolinska, Fridhemsplan and Hornstull; and to Brommaplan every hour, with stops at Norgegatan, Kista, Bromma Airport and Tritonvagen.

Line 801 from UL (Tel +46 771 141 414) connects the site with Uppsala twice hourly between 4:13 am and 2:13 am.

SL (Tel +46 8600 1000) operates night services 592 to central Stockholm and 593 between Uppsala and the city centre, via Marsta, Lokegatan, Rotebro and Norrvikens stations.

Nettbuss Bus4You (Tel +46 771 151 515) offers direct travel between the airport and Vasteras, then on to Orebro, Karlskoga, Kristinehamn and Karlstad.

There are also services from Flixbus (Tel +46 850 513 750) to Uppsala and Landvetter Airport, and from Y-buss (Tel +46 771 334 444) to and from Marsta, Rotebro, Ostra Steninge, Enköping, Knutby, Knivsta, Umea, Karlstad, Sundsvall, Hudiksvall and Söderhamn.

Harjedalingen (Tel +46 6511 0000) offers trips to Stockholm central station, Uppsala, Bollnas, Jarvsö, Sveg and Funasdalen.

Train

The direct high-speed Arlanda Express service (Tel +46 771 720 200) travels to Stockholm central station in 18 minutes from 4:50 am to 1:05 am. It also offers free transfers between the terminals. You can buy tickets at the information desks, from machines by the elevators and stairs, or via the company's app.

Trains from SL (Tel +46 8600 1000) and UL (Tel +46 771 141 414) to Stockholm (38 min. trip) and Uppsala (18 min.) depart from the SkyCity building, between terminals 4 and 5. Tickets at the information desk in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 5.

Long-distance trains run by SJ (Tel +46 771 757 575) and Vy Tag (Tel +46 771 444 111) depart from the same location to destinations in the Lake Malaren Valley region and the counties of Dalarna and Norrland, including Uppsala, Södertalje, Gavle, Hudiksvall, Sundsvall, Ostersund, Ore, Borlange, Falun, Leksand, Mora, Nyköping, Norrköping, Linköping, Enköping, Eskilstuna, Falkenberg, Hallstahammar, Jönköping, Karlstad, Malmö, Uddevalla.

Taxi

Vehicles available directly outside terminals 2 and 5. Companies include Uppsala Taxi (Tel +46 1810 0000) and Eklundshof Taxi (Tel +46 1821 0000). As the market is unregulated in Sweden, companies are free to set prices, so you should choose the operator that suits you best. Only environmentally friendly vehicles are allowed to operate within the airport grounds. The journey to central Stockholm takes 30-45 minutes.

Transportation Tips to/from the airport

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.
 
 1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening.
 
If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time.
 
If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications.
 
If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.
 
 2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive.
 
Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff.
 
It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver.
 
On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
