Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Bologna airport operates a large number of international flights, so it is not uncommon to see many passengers passing through at night waiting for an early morning flight. The terminal is small, safe and quiet, and is open 24 hours a day.
Where to rest: You can find some comfortable benches on the first floor, but for the most part, the seats inside the terminal are made of metal and have armrests, so be prepared to sleep on the floor. Just outside the entrance, you'll find wooden benches where you can settle in. Another option is to enter the airport VIP lounge, although it closes for the night, or check into the hotel located near the grounds.
Baggage: There is currently no left-luggage service inside Bologna airport.
Eating and drinking: Only vending machines are available during the night.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities.
