Bari Airport remains open 24 hours a day, allowing passengers with early-morning flights or overnight layovers to stay overnight in the terminal. Although it is a safe place to stay, the experience can be somewhat uncomfortable due to the design of the seating and overnight maintenance activity.

Where to rest?

The area most recommended by travellers is the upper level (mezzanine), as it is usually further away from the main foot traffic on the ground floor and the arrivals level. However, bear in mind that most seats throughout the terminal have metal armrests, making it difficult to lie down flat. Many passengers choose to sleep directly on the floor; if you decide to do so, it is advisable to have a sleeping mat, sleeping bag or thermal blankets, as the floor is tiled and tends to be very cold.

For uninterrupted rest, it is advisable to use earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones, as cleaning staff operate during the early hours and public address announcements can be frequent. In addition, the use of a sleep mask is recommended, as the terminal lights remain fully on throughout the night.

Luggage

Left luggage: At present, the airport does not provide lockers or luggage storage offices. You will need to keep an eye on your belongings at all times during your overnight stay.

Food & Drink

The terminal’s restaurants and cafés close during the night (generally after the last flight and until 5:00 am). To obtain food or drinks overnight, you will need to rely on the vending machines located in the public and boarding areas, or bring your own supplies in advance.

• Finance: Cash machines in the departures and arrivals areas are accessible 24 hours a day.
• Families: Nursing rooms and baby care areas remain open and available.
