Cagliari Airport remains open 24 hours a day, allowing passengers with early-morning flights to stay overnight in the terminal. It is essential to present a boarding pass or a valid flight reservation, as security staff usually carry out checks during the night to verify passenger status.

Rest areas

The terminal is functional but presents challenges for prolonged rest. Most seating is metal and fitted with fixed armrests, which prevents passengers from lying down comfortably. The Arrivals area (Ground Floor) is generally recommended by travellers, as it is quieter than the Departures level and has some benches without dividers in specific sections. It is important to note that temperatures inside the building tend to drop significantly at night due to the air-conditioning system and draughts near the automatic doors; bringing warm clothing or a travel blanket is therefore advisable.

Luggage: There is currently no left-luggage or baggage storage service available. You will need to keep your belongings with you at all times until your airline’s check-in counters open.

Dining: There are no food outlets, cafés or convenience stores operating during the night. Most establishments close after the last flight and reopen between 5:00 am and 5:30 am. It is advisable to purchase food and drinks in advance.

Wi-Fi: Internet access is free, stable and unlimited throughout the terminal, which is a benefit during long overnight waits.

Other services: Cash machines and the first aid station remain operational 24 hours a day for any medical emergencies.

Hotels

Although the airport does not have hotels within its premises, its strategic location just a few kilometres from the city centre and the town of Elmas allows quick access to a variety of accommodation options. Most of these establishments are located less than 10 minutes away by car or train.
