Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Cairo Airport is open 24 hours a day, but it doesn't offer many comfortable facilities for resting. Passengers cannot enter the boarding areas until 3 hours before their flight departure. Keep your passport handy, as security staff will ask for it frequently.
Where to rest: The best place to rest is on level 3 of Terminal 3, where you can find numerous padded benches. Another option (by paying or through different memberships) is to use one of the VIP lounges, which are open around the clock. Alternatively, a couple of hotels are located next to the airport grounds.
Baggage: The airport does not have luggage storage facilities.
Eating and drinking: Shops close at night, so it’s advisable to have some snacks prepared in advance.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
