Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels (CGH)
Possibility to spend the night at São Paulo Congonhas airport (CGH), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.
Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Congonhas Airport (CGH) remains open 24 hours a day, allowing passengers to stay overnight inside the terminal. However, it is important to keep in mind that there are no air operations between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am due to urban noise restrictions, meaning activity drops drastically and most services close during the overnight hours.
Where to rest
Public Areas: The airport is not known for its comfort for overnight rest. Most benches in the central hall and waiting areas have metal armrests, making it difficult to lie down.
Quiet spots: The third floor (access to offices and administrative areas) tends to be quieter with less foot traffic. Many passengers choose to lie on the floor in secluded corners, so it is essential to have a sleeping bag or blankets, as the air conditioning is constant and the floor is cold.
VIP Lounges: Although there are several lounges (Advantage, Bradesco, BRB), all close at night (generally at 10:00 pm) and reopen in the morning (between 4:00 am and 5:30 am). It is not possible to stay overnight inside them.
Luggage
For greater peace of mind and security while you rest, you can store your belongings in the automated lockers managed by Malex.
Location: Lower Level (Basement), south wing.
Hours: Operational 24 hours.
Eating and Drinking
Due to the nighttime flight curfew, dining options are reduced to a minimum during the early morning. While historically some coffee shops in the central hall maintained 24-hour service, this may vary by season. It is recommended to have snacks or drinks on hand just in case, or use the vending machines.
Wi-Fi and Services
Internet: Free and unlimited access through the official Aena network.
24h Availability: ATMs, baby care facilities, and emergency medical services.
Nearby Accommodation
Given the discomfort of the terminal and the lack of armrest-free seating, the most recommended option is to cross the pedestrian bridge to the hotels located right across the street (such as the Ibis or eSuites), which guarantees proper rest just a few meters from the check-in counters.

Hotels
Congonhas Airport is immersed in the urban fabric of São Paulo (Campo Belo neighborhood). Although there are no hotels inside the terminal, there is an abundant supply just across Washington Luís Avenue. Several of them can be reached by walking across the pedestrian bridge connecting the airport to the other side of the avenue.
