Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Cluj airport is open 24 hours a day, so if you have an early morning flight or connection, you should be able to spend the night inside the airport without any problems. Headphones, earplugs and a sleep mask are recommended, as the lights are on all night and loud music and noise are common. The airport is generally safe, but it is always important to exercise caution and keep an eye on your belongings. Keep your valuables with you and don't leave them unattended while you sleep.
Where to rest: The seats available inside the terminal have armrests and are hard and uncomfortable, so it is best to lie on the floor, especially if you have a sleeping bag or blankets. Try to stay on the first floor, as you will have easier access to toilets and power outlets. If you have a bigger budget, you can also use one of the airport VIP lounges, although these are closed at night. Finally, if you prefer more comfort and privacy, consider booking a hotel room nearby. Several hotels offer shuttle services to and from the airport.
Baggage: There is currently no left-luggage service at this airport.
Eating and drinking: Food outlets close at night, but you can find vending machines.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available 24 hours a day: ATMs, nursing rooms, chapel.
