The facility offers a diverse parking infrastructure that includes covered and uncovered options, valet service, and free waiting areas. All areas are open 24 hours a day and are monitored by security patrols.
It is recommended to make an online reservation at least 6 hours in advance to guarantee availability and secure the lowest possible rates (up to 60% off the drive-up rate).
Short-Term Parking and Waiting
- Hourly Deck: Located directly in front of the terminal, with 15 minutes free. It is the only option accessible on foot (levels 4–7) via climate-controlled walkways on Level 2. Ideal for dropping off or picking up passengers if you need to enter the terminal. EV charging stations are available on levels 4, 5, and 6.
- Cell Phone Lot: Free parking area for drivers waiting for arriving passengers. Drivers must remain in their vehicles at all times. Located on Josh Birmingham Parkway, a short distance from the terminal.
Long-Term Parking
These options operate with a free shuttle service that connects to the terminal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Express Deck: Covered parking that offers a more direct and exclusive shuttle service. EV charging stations are available.
- Daily Deck: Covered option for extended stays. It serves as a mid-range alternative between the Hourly Deck and the economy lots.
- Long Term Lots (1 & 2): The most economical options (uncovered). They are located farther from the terminal and operate with courtesy buses that run at regular intervals.
Premium Services
- Curbside Valet: Available for vehicle drop-off directly at the curb on the Departures (Ticketing) and Arrivals (Baggage Claim) levels. Operates from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Facilities for passengers with special needs
Charlotte Douglas International Airport offers a wide range of services and facilities to ensure accessibility for all passengers. These include accessible restrooms and telephones, ramps and elevators at strategic points, as well as designated parking spaces in all on-site parking areas. If you require a wheelchair, you should arrange the service directly with your airline prior to your arrival.
Service Animals
The airport provides designated Service Animal Relief Areas. There are outdoor areas near bus stops and indoor locations situated in Concourses A, B, and D, allowing passengers traveling with service animals to remain within the secure area.
Visual and Hearing Assistance
For passengers with visual impairments, the airport offers free access to the Aira platform, which connects users with a remote agent who provides real-time assistance navigating the terminal. In addition, hearing loop systems have been installed in several waiting areas to enhance the experience for passengers using hearing assistive devices.
Hidden Disabilities and TSA Cares
CLT participates in the international Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program. If you have a non-visible disability (such as autism, anxiety, or hearing loss), you can request a sunflower lanyard or wristband at the information desks so airport staff can recognize that you may need additional assistance or extra time.
For questions regarding security procedures and screenings, you may contact TSA Cares at least 72 hours prior to your trip.
