Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels (CPT)
Possibility to spend the night at Cape Town airport (CPT), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.
Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Cape Town Airport does not offer much in terms of entertainment while you wait for your flight, but it is open 24 hours a day, allowing you to spend the night inside the premises. Although the airport is quiet at night, the lights remain on, so bringing a sleep mask is advisable.
Where to rest: There are numerous seats throughout the terminals, but most have armrests. Your best option is the observation deck, which features padded benches. Additionally, the terminals have various VIP lounges, though these close at night. Just a few metres from the airport grounds, there are two nearby hotels.
Baggage: A luggage storage service is available on the ground floor of car park P2.
Eating and drinking: Shops and dining outlets close around 9:00 pm.
Restrooms: Showers are only available inside certain VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free for 4 hours.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities.
