Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Charleroi Airport operates several flights within Europe. Therefore, there is constant movement, although it tends to be quite calm at night. Passengers wishing to spend the night inside the premises must remain in the public area once the security checkpoints have closed.
Where to rest: In general, there are few seats, and most have armrests. However, at one end of Terminal 1, past the check-in counters, it is possible to find cubicles that offer more privacy. On the other hand, the floor is not carpeted, so it is recommended to bring a sleeping bag or blankets. There is also a VIP lounge in each terminal with more comfort, although they are closed overnight. Finally, many nearby accommodations offer shuttle services if you book a room in advance.
Baggage: Lockers are available next to the taxi stands. This means you can forget about your bags until check-in.
Eating and drinking: Shops close at night, so you should have snacks prepared in advance or rely on vending machines.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children’s play area, petrol station.
