Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Charleroi airport operates several flights within Europe. As a result, it is constantly busy, although it is usually quite quiet at night. Passengers wishing to spend the night inside the enclosure should stay in the public area once the security checkpoint closes.
Where to rest: In general, there are few seats, and those that are available have armrests. However, at one end of Terminal 1, past the check-in counters, it is possible to find cubicles that provide more privacy. On the other hand, the floor is not carpeted, so a sleeping bag or blankets are recommended. There is also a VIP lounge in each terminal with more amenities, although they are closed at night. Finally, many accommodations in the surrounding area offer shuttle services.
Baggage: Lockers are available next to the taxi ranks. This means you can forget about your bags until you can check-in.
Eating and drinking: Shops close in the evening, so have refreshments ready beforehand.
Wi-Fi: It is free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play area, gas station.
