Public transportation services, licensed taxis and rideshare, private transfer companies and car rental services in Buenos Aires Ezeiza airport (EZE)

Transportation

Ezeiza Airport offers multiple options for getting to the City of Buenos Aires and other locations. The offerings include taxis, remises (private cars), ride-hailing services (Uber/Cabify), city buses, and shared or private transfers.

Rent a Car

Taxis and Remises (Private Cars)

To ensure safety and a fixed fare, it is recommended to hire the service at the official counters inside the arrivals hall. The operator Taxi Ezeiza Oficial allows you to pay a pre-set cost that already includes tolls. You will also find counters for remise companies (cars with a driver) such as Manuel Tienda León and Transfer Express. The trip to the city center takes approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

Uber and Cabify (Ride-Hailing Services)

Uber and Cabify services are available. After requesting a vehicle through the app, it will indicate the exact meeting point in the parking area, as they cannot access the exclusive taxi stands in front of the terminal. The fare is dynamic and calculated at the time of the request.

City Buses (Colectivos)

This is the most economical alternative, but it requires the mandatory use of the SUBE card, which can be purchased at kiosks in the airport. The stops are located in the outdoor area. It is not a comfortable option if traveling with heavy or bulky luggage.

  • Line 8: This is the only useful city bus line for tourists, as it connects the airport with the center of Buenos Aires (Plaza de Mayo) and the Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. It is crucial to make sure you take the branch indicated as "Aeropuerto por Autopista" (Airport via Highway) for a faster journey (70-90 min).
  • Other lines (51, 394, 518): Their route goes to locations in the southern suburbs, not being a direct route to the central areas of the capital.

Shuttles and Transfers

These services combine cost and comfort. It is advisable to book online to secure your spot and know the final price in advance.

  • Manuel Tienda León: Offers buses with regular frequencies that connect Ezeiza with its terminal in Retiro (Terminal Madero) and with Aeroparque. It has sales counters in the arrivals area.
  • Private Transfers (Civitatis): Allows for online booking of private vehicles. A driver waits for the passenger with a sign at the exit of baggage claim, ensuring a door-to-door service without waiting.

Transportation Tips to/from the airport

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.

1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening.

If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time.

If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications.

If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.

2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive.

Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff.

It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver.

On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
