Requirements to hire a vehicle

To hire a car in Portugal, you will generally need to meet the following minimum requirements:

Driving licence: Must be valid and held for at least one year. If your licence was issued outside the European Union, it is recommended (and in some cases mandatory) to present an International Driving Permit.
