Possibility to spend the night at Frankfurt airport (FRA), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.
Spending the night at the airport
Passengers with an early morning or early evening connecting or departure flight will have little difficulty spending the night at Frankfurt International Airport. As well as being open 24 hours a day, there are a number of services available throughout the night.
Where to rest: In Terminal 1, hall B is open 24 hours a day (halls A, C and Z are usually closed), and in Terminal 2 the most suitable area is on the second level. In Terminal 1, most of the seats have metal armrests, so they are not the best places to rest. But in the Arrivals area of Terminal 2, there are seats without armrests, making them ideal for resting using two or three of them. Another option is the 24-hour yoga rooms next to gates C14-C16 and D1-D4. It is advisable to have an eye mask and earplugs handy, as the airport is quite lively even at night and is often noisy. If you have to sleep on the floor, have a blanket handy, as it is usually a cold place.
For transfer passengers already in the boarding area, in addition to the aforementioned yoga rooms, there are "Leisure Zones", relaxation areas with more comfortable armchairs, ideal for rest, near gates A26, A50, B43 and D1-4. Passengers who are stranded at the airport for various reasons can ask a member of staff for cushions.
NapCabs - In addition to the options mentioned above, Frankfurt airport has sleeping cabins in Terminal 1 transit area B. They can be found on level 3, next to the roof terrace. The minimum rental period is two hours during the day and 3 hours at night. During the day, 60 minutes cost €17.00, and at night the rate is €12.00. Bookings can be made in advance by credit card or Paypal. The cabins are accessible 24 hours a day all year round and have a bed, workstation and touch screen with access to videos and music, USB port and internet access.
VIP LOUNGES - Another option (either for a fee or by credit card) is to use one of the VIP lounges, where you have access to greater comfort and privacy, although they are closed at night.
In Terminal 1, you will find a transit hotel, and both inside and near the terminals there are several hotels, as detailed below.
Luggage: There is a 24-hour luggage office in Terminal 1's hall B where you can leave your bags and rest easier, without having to keep an eye on your baggage. The other offices close around 5:00 pm and reopen early in the morning.
Eating and drinking: Convenience shops, bars and fast food outlets are open 24 hours a day in both terminals.
Bathrooms: Showers are available in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 for a small fee. Showers are also available in the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited. There are also power sockets and USB ports for recharging mobile devices.
Entertainment area: A good place for pastime is the public area of Terminal 1, with slot machines, games, internet kiosks, etc.
Medical services: First aid and medical care available 24 hours a day in Terminal 1.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's entertainment areas, baby changing facilities, prayer rooms, smoking lounges, yoga rooms, game rooms.
The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center, Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport, Hilton Frankfurt Airport and Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel are connected to Terminal 1, while the My Cloud Transit Hotel (for non-Schengen bound passengers only) is located in the Terminal 1 transit area. NapCabs can be found on level 3 of Terminal 1. The MEININGER Hotel Frankfurt Airport is within walking distance of Terminal 2. Many options can also be found nearby, some with complementary transfer services.
