Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport (GDN), opened on 2 May 1974, is one of the most important air terminals in Poland. Terminals
The airport has two passenger terminals operating 24 hours a day, connected to each other by a pedestrian bridge at the upper level:
- Terminal 1: Older building used exclusively for departures of flights to countries outside the Schengen Area. It is currently out of service and is planned to be demolished once the expansion works of Terminal 2 are completed.
- Terminal 2: Modern facility where all arrivals (both Schengen and non-Schengen) and departures of flights within the Schengen Area are handled.
Annual Traffic (2024): 6.7 million passengers.
Information Points
The airport’s main information desk is located on the ground floor of Terminal 2 and is available 24 hours a day. In addition, there is a tourist information centre operated by the Gdańsk Tourism Organisation in the arrivals hall, open Monday to Sunday with extended hours during the high season.
Location
The airport is located 12 km (7.5 miles) west of Gdansk, 10 km (6.2 miles) south-west of Sopot and 23 km (14.4 miles) south of Gdynia.

The facility offers a parking system organised into different zones adapted to each passenger’s needs, ranging from quick drop-offs to long-term stays. All parking areas are managed directly by the airport and are located within a short walking distance of the terminals.
Kiss & Fly Zone
Located directly in front of the terminal entrances, this area is designed exclusively for the quick drop-off and pick-up of passengers. Access is free for the first 10 minutes. Please note that free use is limited to a maximum of three entries per day; additional entries or exceeding the permitted time will result in significant charges.
Short Stay
These car parks are ideal for those accompanying passengers to the terminal or carrying out quick errands:
- P1: Located in front of Terminal 2, it is the closest option for stays of a few hours.
- P3: Situated next to Terminal 2, it offers immediate proximity to the check-in and arrivals areas.
Medium and Long Stay
For trips lasting several days or weeks, the airport offers more economical options:
- P4 and P5: Balanced options in terms of cost and proximity, located just a few minutes’ walk from the terminal.
- P6 (Economy): A more distant area and therefore the most economical option for extended stays.
- P7 and P8 (Low-Cost): Additional parking areas mainly used to cover demand during peak seasons.
Reservations and Payments
Online Booking: It is possible to reserve a parking space in advance via the official website to guarantee availability and access reduced rates. You can make your reservation through the booking portal.
Payment Methods: Payment can be made at the automatic machines located in the car parks and inside the terminal, which accept cash (PLN) and credit/debit cards.
Facilities for passengers with special needs
Gdańsk Airport is a fully accessible facility, designed to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers with reduced mobility, sensory disabilities or other special needs, in compliance with European Union regulations.
Requesting Assistance
To ensure efficient support, it is mandatory to inform your airline or travel agent of the assistance services required at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight. This allows airport staff to coordinate the necessary support from your arrival at the terminal through to your seat on the aircraft.
Infrastructure and Services
- Physical accessibility: Access ramps, suitably sized lifts and adapted toilets in all public and boarding areas.
- Contact points: Clearly marked assistance points displaying the PRM icon are available in car parks, at public transport stops and near the main entrances of Terminal 2.
- Equipment: Wheelchairs available for use within the airport and lifting equipment (ambulift) for boarding aircraft that do not use jet bridges.
- Signage: Tactile paving for passengers with visual impairments and clear visual and audible information systems.
Reserved Parking
Designated and clearly marked parking spaces are available for vehicles transporting passengers with disabilities. These spaces are located in the areas closest to the terminal entrances and exits, minimising walking distances.
Assistance Dogs
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted within the terminal. It is recommended to check specific documentation requirements with the airline, especially for international flights that may be subject to additional health regulations.
