 Passenger Guide

Heydar Aliyev International Airport, opened on 9 February 1933, is the most important airport in Azerbaijan and serves not only the capital area but the entire country. It is also one of the busiest airports in Transcaucasia. In addition to domestic flights, it operates routes to international destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, mainly to neighbouring countries and former USSR states.

Number of Terminals – 2 – Terminal 1 (international flights) and Terminal 2 (domestic flights), open 24 hours a day and located next to each other.

While Terminal 1, being the busiest, is more modern, Terminal 2, which is older, has more limited facilities.

Annual passenger traffic: 7.5 million passengers passed through in 2024.

Information desks can be found on the first floor of Terminal 1 and on the first and second floors of Terminal 2, in addition to interactive screens on the first and third floors of Terminal 1 and staff in blue uniforms available to assist.

Parking services at Baku airport (GYD)

There is a parking area in front of the terminals available 24 hours a day for both short- and long-term stays, as well as a drop-off and pick-up zone that is free for the first 3 minutes. Facilities for passengers with special needs

Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs are advised to coordinate the appropriate services with their airline or travel agency at least 48 hours before arrival. Wheelchairs, escort services, lift-equipped vehicles for boarding, adapted toilets, and designated parking spaces in front of Terminal 1 are available.
