Heydar Aliyev International Airport, opened on 9 February 1933, is the most important airport in Azerbaijan and serves not only the capital area but the entire country. Number of Terminals – 2 – Terminal 1 (international flights) and Terminal 2 (domestic flights), open 24 hours a day and located next to each other.
While Terminal 1, being the busiest, is more modern, Terminal 2, which is older, has more limited facilities.

Information desks can be found on the first floor of Terminal 1 and on the first and second floors of Terminal 2, in addition to interactive screens on the first and third floors of Terminal 1 and staff in blue uniforms available to assist.
The airport is located 20 km (12.4 miles) northeast of Baku city.
