William P. Hobby Airport, opened in 1927, serves as a complement to George Bush Airport, in Houston. It operates with domestic flights and seasonal destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

Public and private transportation

Bus - METRO (Tel +1 713 635 4000) operates services from curb zone 3, outside the baggage reclaim area. Fares are USD1.25 and journey time to the city centre is around 60 minutes. Line 40 travels to AIG Complex, Eastwood Transit Center, Gulfgate Center and West End Multi-Service Center, and allows connections with route 102 to George Bush Airport. It leaves every 15-30 min. between 4:00 am and 0:05 am. Line 50 runs to Community Family Center, Eastwood Transit Center, Magnolia Multi-Service Center and Peiser Park. Bus 73 goes to Fannin South Transit Center and Sunnyside Park. Route 88 travels to Almeda Mall and San Jacinto College South.
SuperShuttle (Tel +1 800 622 2089) provides shared, door-to-door transportation inside the Houston area and has a booth in the baggage reclaim hall.
Sun Travel Airport Shuttle (Tel +1 409 721 9636) offers transfers to Beaumont/Port Arthur and Jack Brooks Regional Airport.
