Istanbul international airport (IST)

Istanbul Arnavutköy Airport, opened on October 29, 2018, is the international airport that was built to replace the former Ataturk Airport as of April 7, 2019, making it Turkey's main airport. It is scheduled to operate domestic and international flights for the whole world. Its construction was planned to welcome 200 million passengers in the future, making it one of the largest in the world.

Number of Terminals - 1 - Divided into five concourses (A, B, D, F and G). Concourse G, which is located to the southeast, is reserved solely for domestic flights, as is the eastern side of Concourse F, which is directly north of Concourse G. Concourses A, B and D are used for international flights. Concourses C and E connect directly to the main terminal and are therefore not independent concourses.

Annual passenger traffic: 64.5 million passengers went through it in 2022.

 Location

The airport is at the intersection of the roads to Arnavutköy, Göktürk and í‡atalca, and between the Black Sea coastal towns of Yeniköy, Tayakadin and Akpinar. It is located 35 km (22 miles) northwest of the city of Istanbul.

Facilities for passengers with special needs

The airport has tactile surfaces and appropriate signage, moving walkways, escalators, designated parking spaces, induction loops, adapted toilets with automatic doors and lighting, specially designed seats, handrails, ramps, public telephones and accessible counters. Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should inform their airline of their needs 48 hours in advance of their flight.
