O.R. Tambo International Airport, opened on 17 January 1952, is the most important in the country and the busiest in Africa, serving the twin cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria. It operates domestic and international flights across the continent and the rest of the world.

Location
The airport is located in Kempton Park, in the East Rand area of Gauteng province, 24 km (15 miles) northeast of Johannesburg city.

Parking services at Johannesburg airport (JNB)
There are several parking options for both long and short stays. A free shuttle bus connects the terminals with more distant parking areas every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. Valet parking is available on Level 4 of P2. The first 30 minutes in P2 are free of charge. Rates
P1 – Multi-level facility for short stays opposite Terminal A.
P2, P3 – Multi-level parking areas for short stays in front of Terminal B.
P4, P5, P6 – Covered areas for long stays.
P7 – For passenger pick-up and drop-off. The first 20 minutes are free of charge.
Facilities for passengers with special needs
Facilities include ramps, lifts, Braille signage, wheelchairs, adapted toilets, and reserved parking spaces. Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline of their specific needs prior to their flight.
