The airport is located on Gravina Island, on the other side of the Tongass Narrows, just (2 km) west of the central business district of Ketchikan.

Passengers must take a seven-minutes ferry ride across the water to get to the airport from the town and viceversa.
A ferry leaves the Ketchikan side of the Tongass Narrows on the quarter hours and the airport side on the hour and half hour every day. The first run of the day leaves the Ketchikan side at 6:15 am and the last run of the day leaves the airport side at 9:30 pm. See rates
