Katowice Airport is fully equipped to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for passengers with reduced mobility or other disabilities. The facilities comply with European Union standards and the assistance service is provided free of charge.
Requesting Assistance
To ensure the availability of staff and the necessary equipment, it is essential to notify your airline or travel agency of your needs at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight. If this advance notice is not provided, waiting times for assistance may increase.
Once at the airport, you can announce your arrival and request the service via the call points (intercoms) known as “Help Points”, located at the entrances to the passenger terminals, in car parks P1 and P2, and at the information desk in the public area.
Services and Infrastructure
- Mobility: Wheelchairs available for use within the terminal and adapted lifts providing access to all levels.
- Accessible Toilets: Accessible restrooms located throughout both the public area and the departure area.
- Hidden Disabilities: The airport participates in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower programme. If you have a non-visible disability, you can request a sunflower lanyard at the information desk to discreetly indicate to staff that you may need extra time or additional assistance.
Parking
Reserved and clearly marked parking spaces for vehicles of people with disabilities (displaying the European Blue Badge) are available in car parks P1 and P2. Drivers holding this badge may benefit from up to 30 minutes of free parking in car park P1 for dropping off or picking up passengers, by validating the ticket at the information desk.
