Transportation
LaGuardia Airport is well connected to New York City via public transit and private options. Because congestion is common, it’s best to plan your trip with extra time.
Ride-Sharing (Uber/Lyft)
Apps such as Uber, Lyft, and Revel have designated pickup zones. Follow terminal signage carefully, as locations changed with the recent redevelopment:
- Terminal A: Pickups occur directly in front of the terminal, across the roadway.
- Terminal B: Proceed to the Level 2 of the Terminal B Parking Garage. Follow “Car Services/App-Based Rides” signs from Arrivals.
- Terminal C: Pickup is on the lower level (Arrivals), in the designated inner lanes (lanes 10, 11, and 12).
Public Transit (MTA Bus)
The MTA bus network is the most economical way to leave the airport. All buses connect to subway and rail lines.
LaGuardia Link (Q70-SBS) — Free!
The Q70 Select Bus Service (LaGuardia Link) is free and provides a fast, nonstop connection between Terminals B & C and key hubs in Queens:
- Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Av Station: Connect to subway lines E, F, M, R, and 7.
- Woodside Station: Connect to the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) and the 7 subway.
Other Routes (Standard Fare)
These routes require fare payment via OMNY (contactless tap) or MetroCard:
- M60 SBS: Ideal for Manhattan (Harlem, Morningside Heights) with connections to subway lines N, W, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, B, C, and D.
- Q47, Q48, Q72: Local routes linking to various Queens neighborhoods (Flushing, Corona, Rego Park, Glendale).
Rent a Car
Shuttles and Private Services
Several private companies offer shared vans and private vehicles to the five New York City boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island) and surrounding areas.
Advance booking is recommended, though you can also arrange service at the Welcome Centers located on the Arrivals level of each terminal.
Well-known operators include:
- ETS Air Shuttle
- Carmel Super Saver
- Airlink New York
Taxis
Official New York City yellow cabs are available at designated taxi stands at each terminal. Uniformed dispatchers are on hand to assist passengers and manage the queue.
Stand Locations:
- Terminal A: Directly in front of the terminal.
- Terminal B: Level 2 of the Terminal B Parking Garage (next to the ride-app area).
- Terminal C: Arrivals level (outer curb).
Fares: Taxis are metered. Be aware of additional surcharges for tolls, overnight/peak hours, and an airport access fee. Do not accept ride offers from unauthorized solicitors inside the terminal.
