Most services operate in front of the South Terminal, but some also stop outside the International Arrivals area of the North Terminal. Tickets can be purchased from counters located in both terminals.

National Express (Tel +44 871 781 8181) offers direct services to a number of destinations throughout the United Kingdom, including London (100 minutes; £8.00), Heathrow (50 min.; £22.00), Bristol (3 hours and 30 min.; £28.50) and Brighton (1 hour; £6.50).

Megabus (Tel +44 141 352 4444) operates buses to a number of destinations within the country, including London (£16.54), Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Cardiff and Canterbury.

The Oxford Bus (Tel +44 186 578 5400) departs for Oxford, with a journey time of 2 hours and 30 min. and a cost of £30.00.

Train

The Gatwick Express (Tel +44 345 850 1530) travels from the station in the South Terminal to Victoria, in central London, in 30 minutes, with two departures per hour and a fare of £19.50.

ThamesLink (Tel +44 345 026 4700) operates services to London Bridge (30 min.; £13.20), St. Pancras International, Luton Airport (1 hour and 30 min.; £16.00), Brighton and Bedford, among other destinations.

Southern trains (Tel +44 345 127 2920) run to Victoria (40 min.; £13.50), London Bridge, Clapham Junction, Brighton, Eastbourne, Southampton and Portsmouth.

In addition, Great Western Railway (Tel +44 789 060 8043) provides hourly services to Redhill, Reigate, Guildford and Reading.

Taxi

Vehicles from Airport Cars Gatwick (Tel +44 129 355 0000) available outside both terminals. The fare to central London is £260.00-310.00 and the journey takes 60-90 minutes, depending on traffic.

Ride-sharing

You can request an Uber vehicle once at the airport. Pick-up points often change without notice, so it is best to follow the instructions on the app once your journey has been confirmed to meet your driver. Fares to central London start from £59.00, depending on the service you choose.

422 - Hourly service from Monday to Saturday to Crawley, Manor Royal, Cheyne Walk, Horley, Westvale Park, Woodhatch and Reigate.
460 - Runs from Monday to Saturday to East Surrey Hospital, Whitebushes, Redhill, Reigate, Lower Kingswood, Tadworth, Preston Estate and Epsom, every hour.

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.  1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening. If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time. If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications. If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.  2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive. Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff. It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver. On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
