Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
As Milan's secondary airport, and a rather old one at that, don't expect much in the way of comfort. However, the terminal is open 24 hours a day and is a safe place to spend the night if you don't want to check into a hotel. It's best to stay in the check-in area, as security personnel usually transfer passengers who remain inside the terminal.
Where to rest: Seats are scarce, and those that are available are made of metal and have armrests, but in the Arrivals area, you'll find a food court (closed at night) where there are carpeted floors and more comfortable armchairs, as well as plenty of power outlets for charging your devices. If you choose to sleep on the floor, it's advisable to bring a sleeping bag or blankets. There are also VIP lounges inside the terminal, but these are closed for the night. In terms of hotels, there are several alternatives in the surrounding area.
Baggage: The left-luggage service only operates from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, so you'll need to stay with your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: There are no options open during the evening.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities, children's play area.
