Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area

Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.

Overnight Stay at the Airport

Lisbon Airport terminals remain open 24 hours a day, so it is possible to spend the night if you have a canceled flight, a long layover, or an early morning departure. It is recommended to bring an eye mask, earplugs, and something warm, as the environment can be noisy, with lights on and strong air conditioning.

Resting Areas

  • Public Areas (before security): The food court area in Terminal 1, especially on the upper level, is the most common option for resting, as it offers a spacious area.
  • Boarding Areas (after security): This is where the majority of seats are located, some of them without armrests. Terminal 1 usually offers more comfortable spaces than Terminal 2. For higher quality rest, consider the VIP lounges; the ANA Lounge operates until 11:00 pm.
  • Hotels: The most comfortable option is to stay at the Meliá or Star Inn hotels, located just a few minutes' walk from Terminal 1.

Services Available Overnight

If you need to spend the night at the airport, keep in mind that several key services continue to operate 24/7 or until late:

  • Food and Beverage: There are several cafeterias and fast-food outlets in Terminal 1 that remain open all night.
  • Wi-Fi: The connection is free and unlimited throughout the airport.
  • Luggage Storage: You can store your luggage in the automated lockers that operate 24 hours a day, located outside Terminal 1.
  • Showers: Available only inside the VIP lounges (ANA Lounge and TAP Premium Lounge).
  • ATMs: ATMs are available 24 hours a day.
