Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.

Spending the Night at the Airport

Gran Canaria Airport, operating 24 hours a day, allows overnight stays in its facilities in case of cancelled flights, long connections, or early morning departures. Although it is not the most comfortable place, it is a viable option. It is recommended to bring earplugs and a sleep mask, as the airport can be noisy and brightly lit, especially in public areas. Bear in mind, however, that access to the building is restricted at night (from 0:00 am to 4:00 am) and only passengers with a boarding pass are allowed entry within two hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

Rest Areas

  • Public Areas (before security): On the departures level, you will find some seats, although they are not usually the most comfortable and may have armrests. The quietest spots are often at the ends or in less busy areas.
  • Boarding Areas (after security): Once past security control, there are more seating options. Some areas near the boarding gates may have seats without armrests, allowing for more horizontal rest. The Galdós VIP Lounge is the best alternative for quality rest, offering a quieter environment and comfortable seating, although access is by membership or payment and its opening hours are limited (6:00 to 22:00).

Services Available at Night

If you need to spend the night at the airport, bear in mind that several key services remain available:

  • Food and Drink: Although most establishments close at night, it is possible to find a café or vending machine operating 24 hours.
  • Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the airport without interruption.
  • Security: The airport has 24-hour surveillance, providing a safe environment for overnight stays.
  • Power Outlets: Charging points for electronic devices are available in several areas, especially in the boarding zones.
  • Toilets: Toilets remain open and accessible throughout the night.
