Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Lyon airport operates many flights and connections inside Europe and the rest of the world, so it is frequent to see passengers waiting for their flight at night. It is recommended to have earplugs or headphones, as there are usually announcements during the night.
Where to rest: The most chosen place to spend the night is Terminal 1, which has numerous seats with no armrests, especially at the bars and coffee shops. In the hall connecting the terminals, there are reclinable chairs. Another option is to enter one of the VIP lounges, where there are more amenities and privacy, although they close at night. Next to Terminal 1 and inside Terminal 2, you can also find hotels, and there are more alternatives in the vicinity.
Baggage: There are no left luggage services. This means you will have to keep your bags with you until check-in.
Eating and drinking: During the night, there are only vending machines available.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, baby changing facilities, medical clinic, prayer room.
