Door to Door

The best option is to book your transfer online in advance, so you’ll have your own driver waiting and won’t need to negotiate prices with taxis or transport companies. You can book a car for up to 3 people for USD47.00 (total price per vehicle). SUVs for 5 passengers (USD67.00) and 6-passenger minivans (USD67.00) are also available.

Apps and taxis

Uber, Lyft, Wingz, and KreweCar pick up passengers curbside on Level 2 of Terminals A and B (Level 3 between 9:00 pm and 2:00 am) and on Level 6 of Terminal C.

Taxis: Stands are located on Level 1 of Terminal A (spaces A22–A25), Terminal B (spaces B30–B34), and Level 6 of Terminal C (arrival curb). The trip to downtown Orlando takes about 20 minutes and costs between USD38.00–45.00. Official operators are Diamond Cab (Tel +1 407 523 3333), Quick Cab (Tel +1 407 447 1444), Town & Country Transport (Tel +1 407 828 3035), and Mears Taxi (Tel +1 407 422 2222).

Local buses

Line 11 of LYNX (Tel +1 407 841 5969) runs to the central station along Orange Avenue from Monday to Friday between 5:10 am and 11:30 pm (5:05 am to 10:25 pm on Saturdays, 6:20 am to 10:25 pm on Sundays), while Line 51 serves Conway Rd. from 5:15 am to 10:15 pm (until 8:15 pm on Sundays). Travel time is approximately 40 minutes.

Route 42 goes to Sand Lake, Florida Mall, International Drive, and Destination Parkway in about 60 min., from 5:05 am to 0:05 am. Bus 311 connects the airport with Sand Lake, Florida Mall, Epic Universal Transfer Center, Universal Helios Grand Hotel, Destination Parkway, and Disney Springs from 5:05 am to 10:20 pm, with a total travel time of around 70 min., while Route 436S goes to Fern Park SuperStop from 4:30 am to 0:00 am (5:35 am to 0:25 am on Sundays). Route 407 links the airport with Medical City and the Kissimmee Intermodal Station.

The fare for all routes is USD2.00 and the stops are located on the ground transportation level of Terminal A, spaces A38–A41.

On Level 1 of all terminals, there are also minibus services provided by Mears Destination Services (Tel +1 855 463 2776) to various locations in the Orlando area, as well as private operators offering transportation to Flagler, Volusia, Brevard, Polk, Alachua, Lake, and Marion counties.

Train

Brightline (Tel +1 831 539 2901) offers service to Miami (from USD51.75), stopping at West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura. Departures are from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm from the airport station located next to Terminal C.

Public buses connect the airport with the Sand Lake Road Station of SunRail (Tel +1 855 724 5411). Trains run Monday to Friday between 5:30 am and 9:30 pm and head to Poinciana, Kissimmee, Meadow Woods, Church Street, LYNX Central, Winter Park, Maitland, Altamonte Springs, Sanford, DeBary, and DeLand. Tickets cost USD2.00–5.00 and the full journey takes 1 hour.

Hotel transfers

The Universal SuperStar Shuttle can be boarded on Level 1 of Terminal A, spaces A30–A33 of the commercial lane, to connect the airport with Universal Orlando resorts.

Other local hotels also provide courtesy transportation to and from Orlando Airport. These are located at spaces A1–A4, A42–A45, B1–B4, B40, C270, C271, C7, and C8.

Transportation Tips to/from the airport

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.
 
 1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening.
 
If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time.
 
If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications.
 
If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.
 
 2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive.
 
Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff.
 
It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver.
 
On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
