Midway International Airport, opened on December 12, 1927, concentrates most domestic flights in the state of Illinois. It also operates with some international flights to Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean.

The airport has a currency exchange bureau (Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Sunday from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm), ATMs, mailboxes, plugs for electric devices and free Wi-Fi access. Several nearby hotels, such as the Chicago Marriott Midway, offer meeting and conference rooms. The USO Lounge is found in concourse C and opens from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm; it offers computers, printers, Wi-Fi, food and beverages, TV, reading material, entertainment (accessible for military and their families).
