Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
You can spend the night inside Malta Airport without any problems. It's safe, comfortable and quiet.
Where to rest: In some of the cafes of the food court, there are comfortable chairs to get some sleep, otherwise you will have to sleep on the floor. Security personnel may ask you to move to the third floor for the night. Make sure you have a sleeping bag or blankets for comfort. Another option (for a fee or through various memberships) is to use one of the VIP lounges. Note that while they are open overnight, the maximum stay is 3 hours. Alternatively, there are several hotels in the surrounding area or in the city centre.
Baggage: A left-luggage service is available at the check-in hall to leave your bags until the next day.
Eating and drinking: You'll find some options open during the night within the enclosure.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities, duty-free store.
