Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Newcastle airport is large and open 24 hours a day. It's important to remember that spending the night in an airport may not be the most comfortable option, but if you have no alternative, it's advisable to have a sleeping bag, blankets, a sleeping mask, earplugs or headphones handy for a better night's sleep.
Where to rest: The only comfortable couches are located in front of the cafeterias in the boarding area. Remember to bring an adaptor to charge your mobile phone or laptop. On the other hand, there is a VIP lounge with more comfort and privacy, although it is closed at night. There is also a hotel next to the site, and you can check out the other options listed below.
Baggage: You can leave your bags in the luggage storage office located in the public area, which also operates 24 hours a day.
Eating and drinking: The only 24-hour option is in the Arrivals Hall.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities, chapel.
