Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Cork airport is open 24 hours a day, so you can spend the night inside the terminal if you have an early morning flight to catch. You may still be asked for your ticket by security staff. While the place is usually quiet, it's important to prepare for the night by bringing along everything you need to make your stay more comfortable, such as a blanket, pillow and headphones to block out the noise.
Where to rest: There aren't many places to rest, but you can find comfortable, cushioned seating in the food court and the bars of the first floor. Near gate 8, there is a resting area with reclining seats and some power outlets to charge your devices. However, this area is public and can be noisy. Another option (for a fee or through various memberships) is to use the airport VIP lounge, which has more amenities and privacy, although it is closed at night. There is also a hotel next to the grounds.
Baggage: As there are no luggage storage facilities, you'll have to stay with your bags until you can check in.
Eating and drinking: The shops inside the terminal close at night, so the only options available are vending machines.
Wi-Fi: The service is free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities, children's entertainment area, prayer room.
