Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Paris Orly airport is smaller than the city's other air terminal, Charles de Gaulle airport, and is easier to navigate. While the terminals close for a few hours overnight, you'll be able to stay inside if you can provide proof that you have a flight the next morning. This also means that it tends to be a little quieter during these hours. For the best rest, it is advisable to have a sleeping bag or blankets handy, as the place can be quite cold, as well as an eye mask due to the lights.
Where to rest: Most seats have armrests, so the best option is usually the floor. However, you can find more comfortable benches in some cafeterias. On the other hand, there are VIP lounges with greater comfort and privacy, although they close at night. Finally, two different hotels are located within the airport grounds.
Baggage: There is no luggage storage service available, so you'll have to stay with your bags until you can check in.
Eating and drinking: Shops are closed outside terminal operating hours, but there are vending machines throughout the airport.
Wi-Fi: It is free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: Baby changing facilities, children's play areas.
