Transportation
Salgado Filho Airport (POA) features a complete ground transportation infrastructure that connects not only to downtown Porto Alegre but also to the important tourist destinations of the Serra Gaúcha (Gramado and Canela).
Ride-sharing Apps
Uber and 99 services are widely used. The airport has designated a specific area for meetings between passengers and drivers to avoid congestion on the main road.
Meeting Point:
You must go to Floor 1 (Arrivals Level) of Terminal 1. Exit through Gate 2 and cross to the central curb, where you will see the "App de Transporte" signs.
Metro (Trensurb / Aeromóvel)
This is the fastest and most economical option to reach downtown Porto Alegre without relying on traffic. The airport is connected to the train station via the Aeromóvel, an automated people mover on rails.
How it works:
1. Take the Aeromóvel at the station located on the upper level of Terminal 1 (in front of check-in).
2. Get off at the Trensurb Aeroporto station.
3. Take the train towards Mercado station (Historic Center) or towards the North (Novo Hamburgo).
Regional Buses (Gramado and Canela)
Given the tourist importance of the Serra Gaúcha, there are direct services from the airport without the need to go to the city's main bus station.
Citral
Operates the regular bus line to Gramado and Canela. The vehicles are comfortable and equipped with air conditioning.
Location: Bus parking lot, accessible from the arrivals level.
Schedules and tickets (Citral)
Brocker Turismo / Turistur
They offer shared or private receptive transfer services, with service counters in the arrivals area. This is a more personalized option than the regular bus.
