Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Pudong Airport is generally not very comfortable for overnight stays. Make sure to have a warm coat and something to block out the noise, such as headphones or earplugs.
Where to rest: Most benches are made of metal and have armrests. Additionally, they are quite scarce in the public area. However, in the Departures area of Terminal 2, there are plenty of seats without armrests. Several VIP lounges within the airport offer greater comfort, but none are open overnight. On the other hand, there is a hotel near the terminals, and many other accommodation options can be found in the surrounding area.
Baggage: Both terminals offer left luggage services, but only between 6:00 am and 0:00 am.
Eating and drinking: The only options available during the night are located in Terminal 2.
Restrooms: Showers inside the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available 24 hours a day: ATMs, currency exchange offices, children's entertainment area.
