Richmond airport (RIC)

Richmond International Airport, opened on October 15, 1927, is one of the most important in the state of Virginia and serves the metropolitan area of Richmond. It basically operates with domestic flights to the country's eastern and central states.

The airport is located in Highland Springs, 8 km (5 miles) southeast from Richmond's financial district.

The airport has a bank (Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm), ATMs and Wi-Fi access with no charge. In the upper level connector there is a business center with workstations, internet and conference rooms. The USO Center, situated on the lower level, is available from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm for militaries and their families; it provides drinks, snacks, plugs for electronic devices, computers, telephones, printers, entertainment, Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning, tickets for different events, library.

Food and Drinks- There are restaurants, fast food outlets and coffee shops in the terminal atrium and concourses A and B.
Shopping- Newsagents, gifts, toys and bookstores.
Baggage- The lost and found office is handled by the airport dispatch, on the lower level of the building (Tel +1 804 226 8585). It operates Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 am and 11:00 am and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Public and private transportation

Bus - Greater Richmond Transit Company (Tel +1 804 358 4782) operates line 56 to White Oak Village and the city centre on weekdays. The fare is USD1.50 and journey time is 30-40 minutes. Buses depart between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Available from the first flight departure until the last flight arrival. The trip to the city centre takes 10-15 minutes.
