Riga International Airport (RIX), opened on 10 October 1974, is Latvia’s main air terminal and the most important hub in the Baltic states. It serves as the primary base for the airline airBaltic and operates direct flights to numerous destinations across Europe and the Middle East.

Terminals
The airport has a single passenger terminal that remains open 24 hours a day. The building is organised into different departure sectors (A, B and C) and arrivals areas (E and C), allowing easy pedestrian access between all zones.

Information Points
The airport features a central information desk (“RIX Info”) and a Visitor Centre (“Welcome to Riga”) located on the first level of arrivals sector E. There you can receive assistance with flights, airport services and transport, as well as office services (copying and printing).

The airport is located in the municipality of Marupe, 10 km (6.2 miles) west of Riga city centre.

The airport complex offers four parking areas that are open 24 hours a day and monitored by CCTV. All of them are just a few minutes’ walk from the terminal, and payment is made on site at the ticket machines, either in cash or by card.
Short-Stay Car Park (P1)
This is the closest and most convenient option, located directly in front of the terminal entrance/exit. Ideal for short trips or business travel. The first 10 minutes of parking are free, a benefit that can be used once every 24 hours.
Long-Stay Car Parks (P2, P3, P4)
Located a few minutes’ walk from the terminal, these are the best option for longer trips.
- Free shuttle service: Available for car parks P3 and P4. If you are in a hurry or prefer not to walk, you can request the shuttle by calling +371 2028 3380.
- Real-time space monitoring (P3): Before entering, display screens show availability in each row, saving you time.
- P3 front row: Reserved for RIX Club members.
Additional Services (P3 and P4)
- Free basic technical assistance: Battery jump-starts and tyre inflation.
- Key storage: Available for an additional fee.
- Car covers: Rental service available.

Requesting Assistance
To ensure efficient service, it is essential to arrange assistance with your airline or travel agency at least 48 hours before your flight’s departure. When making the booking, please specify the type of assistance required.
Meeting Points
Once at the airport, you can activate the assistance service at the designated meeting points, which are equipped with call buttons and direct communication telephones:
- Car park P1: Near the spaces reserved for people with disabilities.
- Main entrance: On the departures level, close to the terminal access doors.
- Information desk: Located in the check-in hall on the second floor.
