Given its scale and operations, Rotterdam Airport is an exceptionally quiet place to spend the night. Although the terminal remains open 24 hours a day, activity almost completely ceases after the last flight, ensuring a silent environment, albeit with limited services.

Overnight Stay in the Terminal

If you decide to spend the night here, you should be aware that you will only be able to remain in the public (landside) area. Once the security checkpoint closes, all passengers are directed out of the departure area. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a spot, as space is limited.

Rest Areas and Comfort

• Seating: Most seats in the central hall have armrests, making it difficult to lie down. However, wooden benches without dividers can be found near the check-in counters and in some more discreet corners behind the lifts.
• Climate and Lighting: The airport is generally well heated, but the lighting remains on throughout the night. The use of an eye mask and earplugs is recommended, as well as a blanket or jacket, as the tiled floor can feel cold.
• Lounges: The Prima Vista Lounge offers greater comfort, but it is not an option for overnight stays, as it closes at 7:00 pm.

Night-time Services

• Food and Drink: There are no food outlets open 24 hours. Restaurants close after the last flight (approximately 10:00 pm – 11:00 pm). Snack and drink vending machines are available in the central hall for emergencies.
• Connectivity: Free Wi-Fi access is unlimited and maintains good speeds during the night due to low demand.
• Hygiene: Toilets and baby care rooms are available and kept clean during the early hours.

Luggage

Critical information: Unlike other airports, locker services in the public area are limited. There are no 24-hour staffed left luggage facilities, so you must keep your belongings with you at all times.

Alternative: If you prefer a real bed, the Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Wings is less than a 2-minute walk from the terminal and offers 24-hour reception for late-night check-ins.

Although there are no hotels physically located within the terminal, the business park surrounding the airport offers several accommodation options at a very short distance, some of which are even accessible on foot.
