Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Overnight at the airport
Riyadh airport is a large place and is open 24 hours a day, so it is possible to spend the night inside the premises. It is advisable to bring a mask, as the lights are very bright, and blankets or a sleeping bag due to the very strong air conditioning.
Where to rest: You can find some recliners by the boarding gates and duty-free shops, but the best options are the Arrivals Halls, where there are long, comfortable sofas. There is also a quiet, carpeted prayer room. Another option is to enter one of the 24-hour VIP lounges. However, be aware that they may have a maximum stay (4-6 hours). If the passenger finally decides to go to a hotel, there is one located next to the airport.
Baggage: Luggage storage services are available. Ask at the information desks for prices and capacity.
Eating and drinking: The options available inside the terminals close at night, but there are vending machines for food and drinks.
Restrooms: Showers are available in some VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free unlimited service.
Other services available 24 hours a day: ATMs, currency exchange bureaux, pharmacies.
