Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport, also known as La Mesa International Airport and opened in February 1965, serves the city of San Pedro Sula and the northern part of the country. It operates international destinations in Central America, Mexico, the United States and Spain, in addition to connections with national tourist spots such as La Ceiba, the Mayan archaeological areas of Copán and the beaches of Roatán and Tela. It is the busiest airport in Honduras.
