Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Ho Chi Minh Airport has recently been renovated and it's not uncommon to find many passengers waiting for their flight to depart overnight. However, it is not one of the most comfortable places to spend the night.
Where to rest: The first floor of Terminal 2 is a quiet place, but there are not many seats, while on level 3 you have more benches, but also more noise. On the second floor, on the other hand, you'll find some quiet rooms with comfortable benches, and you can also use the seats in the food outlets. There are VIP lounges in both terminals. There are no hotels on the premises, but some accommodations provide shuttle services.
Baggage: A 24-hour left-luggage service is available at Terminal 2.
Eating and drinking: Food outlets in the terminals close around the time of the last flight. Also, note that prices are in US dollars and are often very high. Drinking fountains are hard to find, so it's advisable to have something to drink and some snacks prepared in advance.
Restrooms: Free showers in the boarding area of Terminal 2.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited service.
