Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia, opened in 1930, is one of the busiest in Greece and serves Central Macedonia. In addition to domestic flights, it operates several international destinations in Europe and the Middle East.

The airport is located 15 km (9.5 miles) to the south of the city centre.
