Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels (SMF)
Possibility to spend the night at Sacramento airport (SMF), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.
Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Sacramento Airport operates numerous flights within the United States, so it is common for there to be movement and passengers waiting for their flight even during the night. Although the terminals are open 24 hours a day, overnight passengers must remain in the public area after security closes. Earplugs or headphones are recommended because of the loud announcements.
Where to rest: Comfortable seating can be found at the base of the stairs in both terminals and by the windows on the first level of Terminal B, with plenty of power outlets in the vicinity. There is also a lounge in which to rest in silence, as well as VIP lounges in both terminals (although these are closed at night). In addition, many hotels in the surrounding area operate 24-hour shuttle services for their guests.
Baggage: As there is no left-luggage service inside the airport, you will have to stay with your bags until you can check in.
Eating and drinking: Most stores close at night, but coffee shops and vending machines are available 24 hours a day.
Wi-Fi: It is free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby care facilities, pet relief areas.
