Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Shannon airport is small and open 24 hours a day. Be aware that the terminal can get quite cold at night, so it is advisable to have a sleeping bag or blankets. There are some designated seating and sleeping areas, but be aware that it can be noisy and there are bright lights on throughout the night.
Where to rest: You can find cushioned seats on the first floor, in front of the boarding gates. There are also comfortable benches between the elevators. Another option is to enter one of the VIP lounges, where you can access more comfort and privacy, although they are closed at night. There is also a hotel opposite the terminal.
Baggage: There is a left-luggage service, but it is only available from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Eating and drinking: There are no options open at night.
Restrooms: Showers are available in the VIP lounges, but not in the public restrooms.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities, children's playgrounds.
