Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Stuttgart airport operates many flights inside Europe and other destinations, so movement is usually constant, even during the night. As it tends to be noisy and pretty cold, it is recommended to have a sleeping bag, blankets, earplugs or headphones. To be able to remain inside the enclosure you will need proof of an onward flight.
Where to rest: The best place to catch some sleep is the mezzanine floor of Terminal 4, where you can find comfortable benches, as well as next to the entrance to the observation deck. Another option is to enter the VIP lounge, although it closes at night. On the other hand, inside the airport grounds, there are three hotels, and more alternatives nearby, which provide free shuttle services.
Baggage: The enclosure provides lockers next to Terminal 1.
Eating and drinking: You can only count on vending machines at night.
Restrooms: There are no showers inside the terminals, but there are in the airport's bus station.
Wi-Fi: Free for 3 hours.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, massage chairs.
