Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Stuttgart Airport operates many flights within Europe and to other destinations, so it tends to remain busy even at night. Since it can be noisy and quite cold, it is advisable to have a sleeping bag, blankets, earplugs or headphones handy. To stay inside the terminal, you must provide proof that you have a flight the next day.
Where to rest: The best place to rest is the mezzanine level of Terminal 4, where there are some comfortable benches, as well as near the entrance to the observation deck. Another option is accessing the VIP lounges, although they close at night. Additionally, there are two hotels within the airport grounds and more options nearby offering free shuttle services.
Baggage: Lockers are available next to Terminal 1.
Eating and drinking: Only vending machines are available during the night.
Restrooms: There are no showers inside the terminals, but they are available at the airport's bus station.
Wi-Fi: Free for 3 hours.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, massage chairs.
