Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, opened on 12 October 1991, is the main airport serving the sub-provincial city of Shenzhen and one of the three most important airports in the Pearl River Delta, alongside Hong Kong and Guangzhou Baiyun. It operates numerous domestic flights as well as international routes to various destinations across Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America.

Number of Terminals - 1 - Open 24 hours a day. It is divided into three sections: a main hall and two side wings. The main building has four above-ground floors and two underground levels. The terminal is connected on its southern side to a ground transportation centre.

A Chinese driving licence is required to drive within the country. If you do not have one, the best alternative is to rent a car with a driver.
The parking areas are located in front of the terminal, a 7–15-minute walk from the check-in counters on the fourth floor. The first 15 minutes of parking are free. Shenzhen Airport provides special care and assistance for elderly passengers, pregnant women, individuals with illnesses, and those with disabilities. Services include priority during check-in, security checks, and boarding, as well as free battery-powered carts for transportation within the terminal. Additionally, courtesy seating is available at all boarding gates, and reserved parking spaces are provided in all car parks.
Passengers must contact their airline in advance to request appropriate services for unaccompanied children (aged 5 to 12), unaccompanied elderly passengers over 70, and wheelchair users, including airport pick-up and in-flight assistance. Once the request has been approved, they must report to the special services counter at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time for check-in and reception procedures. Special passenger reception services are no longer available 1 hour before the scheduled departure time.
