Tenerife South airport (TFS)

Tenerife South Airport, or Reina Sofí­a International Airport, was opened on October 23, 1978. Together with Tenerife North Airport, it concentrates the largest air traffic movement in the Canary Islands and is one of the busiest airports in Spain. It operates domestic and international flights to destinations within Europe.

Number of Terminals - 1 - Open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. Outside these hours, passengers are only allowed to enter 2 hours prior to their scheduled flight departure.

Information desks in the Arrivals Hall and security screening area. A team of "green jackets" offer help and assistance to travellers at numerous points throughout the airport.

Tourist office in front of the Arrivals lobby, outside the terminal, available from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays (Tel +34 922 392 037).

 Location

The airport is located in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, 60 km (37.5 miles) southwest of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 10 minutes from the tourist resorts of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas.

Facilities for passengers with special needs

Facilities include access ramps, lifts, accessible toilets and telephones, and reserved parking spaces. Most airlines offer escort services for unaccompanied minors between the ages of 5 and 12. Remember to inform your airline of your particular needs at least 48 hours in advance.
