Trieste – Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport (TRS), also known as Ronchi dei Legionari Airport or Pietro Savorgnan di Brazzà Airport, is the main gateway to the north-eastern region of Italy. Opened on 2 December 1961, its strategic location allows it to serve not only Trieste and Udine, but also border areas of Slovenia and Croatia. It mainly operates domestic flights and European connections operated by both network and low-cost airlines.

Terminals

The airport has a single passenger terminal that handles all arrival and departure operations. The building is generally open from 4:00 am until midnight (12:00 am), or until the arrival of the last scheduled flight of the day. The terminal is modern and functional, integrating the Intermodal Hub, which provides direct connections to high-speed trains and regional buses.

All parking areas are located within a 2 to 5-minute walking distance of the terminal, most of them connected by an elevated and covered pedestrian walkway (Skybridge).

Short Stay

For quickly dropping off or picking up passengers, there are areas with free grace periods.

• P4 (Arrivi): Located immediately in front of the arrivals hall. Ideal for stops of less than 10 minutes. It features Telepass technology for automated entry and exit.

• P2 (Standard): Outdoor parking located 3 minutes from the terminal. Includes charging stations for electric vehicles.
• P3 (Comfort): The closest area to the departures zone, located on the east side of the terminal.
• P7 (Silos): A multi-storey covered car park, directly connected to the terminal via the elevated walkway. It is the best option for protecting your vehicle from adverse weather conditions.

Assistance for Passengers with Reduced Mobility

To ensure appropriate assistance, you must request the service through your airline or travel agency at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure of your flight. Airport staff will accompany you throughout all procedures, from check-in to seating on the aircraft.

Contact points: Once at the airport, you can activate the assistance request using the call totems located in the P1 car park, at the Polo Intermodale (near the train and bus station), and next to the main terminal entrances.

Sala Amica: The airport features a dedicated waiting area known as the Sala Amica, located on the ground floor, where passengers who have requested assistance can rest comfortably under supervision prior to boarding.
